I have a three year old dog that chews the hair off of my new four month old puppy's back. First I want to know why she is doing this? Second I want to know how I can stop it? Someone had suggested to me to use the stuff people use to stop biting their finger nails but I didn't know if this was safe to use on my puppy.

First this is NOT OK that poor baby is only 4 months old! is that her puppy or what if not keep the puppy away from her as she may become jealous or something WATCH her whenever she and the puppy are together you never know what may happen while they are alone.

Also you might want put the puppy on something like clothes and spray the sour spray that dogs HATE on the cloth that should keep her away try it!

there is a spray you can get called chew stop, especially for dogs. she may well be letting your puppy know who's boss...or she may well be mothering her. check your puppy over and make sure she doesn't have any fleas..your dog could well be trying to flea her.
