What medicine is best for dog hot spots?

My dog is losing his hair the vet said neosporin but it is all over his body not just in spots.

I would first make an appointment with a different vet. Hot spots are almost always secondary to another condition, such as mange, skin mites, or severe allergies to foods, inhalants, or fleas. Treating the hot spots with Neosporin may relieve the discomfort in those particular areas, but the primary cause needs to be addressed first.

Talk to a new vet every week until you find one who proposes a diagnosis and treatment of a primary cause, not just a temporary solution to the resulting problem - staph skin infection causing "hot spots".

Did you call the vet or did the vet see the dog? Your dog might have mange. Please take him to the vet.
