My dog fur is matted?

My dog tail has its hair matted together....I try to brush it ,but it is not helping...what to do?

Use scissors to cut out the heavily matted parts but dont take the mat out completely so just just cut through it %26amp; brush it, use a k/9 detangler, the a finely pronged comb to gently untangle it.

Also if it is in bad condition just go to the groomers.

ALSO dont bathe the dog you willl just make the mat worse but rubbing it and scrubbing it.

And dont use human shampoo/condit. directly on the skin, Dogs dont have oil glands like we do, and by using people you just make their skin dryer.

Take it to the groomer and have her fix it. Then try to take care of it afterwards.

Cut out the mats and regulaly brush the fur so it doesn't happen anymore.

Either carefully cut out the matt yourself or take your dog to a groomer to do it. Matts are actually unhealthy and sometimes painful for the dog. They can pull the skin and also harbor germs.

Take her to a groomer they are probably going to have to shave the tail.

Once she is groomed you will have to brush and comb her every day in order to prevent mats.

Try using a conditioner first and gently try to comb it while the conditioner is on, starting with the ends. You CAN use human conditioners on the tail if the matt isn't too close to the skin.

Cutting it out is the last resort, of course, but give conditioner a try first.

Best of luck to you.

try using a childrens detanger shampoo and conditioner as well as the spray in conditioner, it won't be as harsh as regular shampoo and might help loosen them up a little.

Cut out the matted hair, then brush it's hair on a daily basis. Also make sure you give her baths on occasion. This happens to my cat all the time!
