It is very uncomfortable for her and I'm wondering if maybe her urine is too acidic or something and if I can do anything, food change, additive, vitamim, etc., to keep her more comfortable.
Thanks
Need info on an older dog's urine problem. She keeps getting a buildup on the hair around her vulva.?
It sounds like an infection. Have you noticed more frequent urination? Is her urine more yellow and heavy? If there is a build up of urine there is a problem. Probably bladder or kidney infection.
Take her to the Vet for medication and ask him if you should change anything in her diet or change anything to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks for the 10 points. I just read your added detail.
Something is wrong. Go to another Vet. That build up is caused by something. Your dog is in pain and shouldn't be after the antibotics. Report It

She may have a urinary tract infection. Take her to the vet... if she seems like she is in pain then it must be very painful. Dogs try to hide those type of emotions... so if she shows that it hurts it must be really bad.

Got to the vet, they are trained to deal with k-nine issues.

What do you mean by "buildup"? My dog was getting a brown stain around there and she had a bladder infection and had to be on antibiotics. Pretty easy to cure if you take her to the vet.
We also changed her food to Science Diet CD to help prevent infections like these.

If it is uncomfortable for her, you need to take her to the vet. Chances are that she has some sort of infection. She may even have an anal gland infection (or impacted anal glands ) that are making her uncomfortable. Only your vet will know the solution to the problem, and believe me, it will be worth the trip, and should be inexpensive to diagnose and treat. But your dog is counting on you to make that decision, and if you put off going to the vet, and it is an infection of some kind, the longer you wait the worse the problem will become. It could even become a life threatening infection. PLEASE take her to the vet and have her checked out, don't try to solve this one on your own. It is a very unique problem, and the vet is the only one who will be able to help you out. I have a feeling that the solution will be simple. You may be able to use some sort of a cream, or groom her differently -- but I will bet you find out she has infected anal glands, as I have had a similar situation with one of my females and it was a surprise to me that that was the problem. The best way to learn the answer to your individual dog's circumstances is to go to the vet. It is worth it when it comes to the health of your furry friend.
