I just adopted a dog and He gets sooo excited sometimes.the problem is he is loosing all the hair?

on the tip of his tail. the problem besides looking kinda gross is when he hits the wall with his tail he starts bleeding. i now have blood splatters everywhere. it looks like someone slaughtered something in my house. can i put something on his tail to stop the bleeding? medical tape ? help

Hes excited hes got a home good for both of you! You dont say what sort of dog he is but this often happens to the pit bulls at the shelter they never seam to stop wagging their tails and they hit the walls with them and make them bleed. I wrap tails with bandages here (grab some pet ones from the vet they stick to themselves not the dog) With a big dog I wrap the tail in some pipe lagging insulation foam stuff first. My Wolfhounds often break the skin on their tails and it does make the house look like a slaugter house. The foam lagging helps stop the tail breaking again. I know you can also but a tail cage type thing for Wolfhounds tails too but I dont know where from.

some type og bandage but you should call a vet to see if there is some type of oitment you can apply to make the wound heal faster

Best thing to do would be to take him to your local veterinarian.

2 a vets 2 look at his tail, he can explain what's happening better than me and offer advice re. any behaviour problems.

i think he's just really really pleased 2 c u and can't help himself.

don't give up on him over it, in time he should calm down.

i don't suggest putting any thing other than an ordinary plaster, just 2 stop the bleeding.

just over excitment...thats all...put some medicine on it....like bag balm...that works great...my greatdane does the same thing...no need to worry...

Wrap it with a paper towel or gauze and tape it up. You need to get him an appointment at the vet to get that looked at - he may need some antibiotics to help it heal.
