Mum and dog?

we've had our dog for one year now and throughout that whole time, my mum has been complaining about him, how he's annoying. think is, my dog isnt annoying. he walks around and doesnt get in everyone's face but my everytime my mum is in a bad mood, she suddenly says she regrets getting the dog. she used to complain abut how there as so much dog hair but now we got rid of it all and now she just says the dog is annoying and she cant afford his food even though its $7 for a bad that lasts him one month. every time she's in a good mood, she'll be patting him and loving him. she is not the kind that you can just sit dont and talk everything out with. she is not committed to taking care f the dog because she thinks he's to big and not cute enough so me, at 14 year old has to care of the dog entirely by myself. what can i do?

Mum and dog?

haha your mum sounds like mine. She will complain about the fur, the saliva making the floor sticky, etc. I guess your mum might have nothing to say to u, so use the dog as a subject?

You are really responsible. If you don't want to give the dog away, guess you will have to take good care of it, by grooming and picking up poo daily, etc.

And be like me, words go in by one ear and come out in the other :P, or like water over a duck.

Mum and dog?

Well you definately need to have a talk with your mom. If your mom is thinking the dog is too much trouble you may need to find the dog another place to live like with a friend or a close relative. But I would attempt to try %26amp; talk to your mom. But when you do try %26amp; talk to your mom don't start out accusing her of things just approacher her on a good day %26amp; just tell her that you need to talk to her about the dog. But whatever you do don't start accusing her of stuff you do that then she won't want to talk to you

Mum and dog?

Keep him groomed, take him for regular walks and train him well. If you can point out how clean and how and well-behaved he is whenever she complains, then she may change her tune.

At 14, you are plenty old enough to carry the responsibility of a dog on your own.

Mum and dog?

What kind of dog is it? If the mother wasn't ready to commit herself to the dog, she shouldn't have gotten it. A dog is a life long commitment and needs love. Even if your mom isn't the "sit down and talk" type, you HAVE to sort this out with her. She shouldn't be complaining since YOU take care of the dog. What costs 7$? A bed? Or a bath? Whichever, I think that your mother is wrong to persecute the dog this way. Keep on caring for your dog, because it is obvious that your mother will not care for him if you leave him alone. Please talk this through with your mother. I think that you did a good job taking care of your dog. He shouldn't be neglected.

Best of Luck,

Sunshine G. :o)

EDIT: I love Jack Russells. They are such bundles of energy despite their size. I don't think that there is an excuse for this. I agree with you. Talk this out with your mom. I'm sure that if you get your dog in the BEST condition that he can get to, your mom might change her mind. Show her that you can take care of the dog, and never forget him. Best of luck!

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Pet shampoos are very expensive to buy ($12+ and the ingredients dont seem that special.

The cheaper human shampoos are only about $2 for a 500ml bottle.

As I have 2 large and 1 medium size dog then this would be more economical and also allow me to spend more on quality food

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

DO NOT use human shampoo/conditioner on your pets. Human shampoo and conditioner are specifically made for the human head. NOT the entire body of an animal. Pets require different nutrients to keep their coats healthy. In winter months animals need their coat to protect themselves from the cold. Their coat also helps them stay cool in the summer. It is up to you to keep their coat healthy to protect them. Quality food is also very important in keeping your pet healthy. If money is an issue, consider buying in bulk to save money in the long run.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

yes you can and you will see a big difference gl its better

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

you can use regual shampoo the dog shampoo just puts stuff into thier fur like oils and stuff.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

There is shampoo and conditioner designed for animals. please use common sense and go to the pet store. That is why they have a store just for animals.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Do not wash your dog with human shampoo. The scent my smell nice to you But it is to harsh for the dog's nose. It can cause dry skin.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

I use johnsons baby shampoo and conditioner with a little bit if tea tree oil in it on my two house dogs. the tea tree oil keep off fleas and ticks and isnt harmful like chemical treatments. and the smell of the tea tree oil leaves as it dries so youre left with a puppy dog that smells like the baby he/she is....and yes i checked the safety of this with my vet before i started using it and he said it was just fine.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

no you shouldn't. The quantities of the ingredients may differ and could result in negative skin reactions

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

You can use human stuff, but I do not recommend it (it can cause sever skin problems). I have 4 dogs and I buy gallons of concentrated shampoo for dogs. It cost about $30 a gallon, but one gallon lasts me over a year (and I give my dogs baths once a week). I but my shampoo from www.ryanspet.com and I recommend the Desert Sudz Sedona Red shampoo (16-1). It is $23.45 per gallon, and each concentrated gallon makes 16 gallons of the shampoo.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Try going to the dollar store and geting something. Also try big lots if you one where you are.Or even go on ebay if you have a credit card. But try to get some dog shampoo soon because human shampoo is suppose to not be very good for their skin.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

If you only wash your dogs once or twice a year, go ahead with the human shampoo. If you bathe them more frequently, and human shampoo seems to be irritating them, try using less, and if that doesn't work, it might be worth it to get a dog shampoo. Baby shampoo would also be a good idea, so you don't have to worry so much about their eyes.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

you shouldnt use human shampoo for dogs because their noses are way more sensitive our shampoo would be too smelly for them

another reason you shouldnt is because using human shampoo can cause flakey and dry skin for dogs

its best you stick with dog shampoo

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Yes you can use baby shampoo. Its gentle and wont sting the eyes. Adult shampoos would be to harsh for their skin.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

You should use a dog shampoo. From what I remember reading in the past-Dogs need a different PH balance in their shampoo and conditioner than humans. You can purchase inexpensive concentrated shampoo off the net at stores like Pet Edge, JB wholesale, Pets Megastore, UPCO and many more. You may even have a pet wholesale store near you.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

I have used baby shampoo and baby conditioner since my 10 yr old was a puppy. My vet's response was..."if its safe for a baby, its safe for him" The conditioner does nothing except make the hair more manageable to groom. The oils a dog needs for his coat comes from his pores and follicles, this is why you shouldn't was too often. No special shampoo or conditioner does anything for the hair except make it feel "better" to the touch. Hair is dead protein, when you put oil on your "dead" wood furniture it may look better, but it's not more healthy; it's still dead.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

I would not use human shampoo on an animal. Human shampoos contain fragrances, oils, and even formaldehyde (yes, the stuff they use to embalm dead people - it's listed as quaternium-15). Formaldehyde is known to cause ear infections, skin problems and even cancer in humans and animals. Putting it in a dog's ear and so close to their eyes which are extremely sensitive (more so than humans) is just asking for problems resulting in vet bills, stress, etc. I would say the $12 shampoo may be worth it.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

I was told by my vet that baby shampoo was safe for puppies and dogs.

You shouldn't bathe your dogs too often either. But my vet told me that baby shampoo was the safest route to go if I was to bathe my dogs more than 2x a year.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Haha I sure hope so because we use shampoo and conditioner on our Australian Shepherd. She seems to fine with it, but then again she cant tell me what she is thinking. =]

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

i would not use human shampoo on dogs, it dries out their coats and causes dandruff, try using wool wash, its much more milder.

Can I use human hair shampoo to wash my dogs with?

Yes you can use human shampoo on dogs just try not to get it into there eyes...

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

Our Yellow Lab shed's ALOT , and I know that labs are supposed to shed but We have had plenty of Dogs in the past We have a black lab and I have NEVER seen a dog shed as much as she goes. Litteraly Fills up a vacume bag with just dog hair within a couple of days.

You can Wash and blow dry her and Brush her and just TONS of it comes out yet she STILL sheds like a S.O.B , all day long!

I have to figure something out , I Run a daycare and All the dog hair isnt good for the kids,But We love her and want her to be with the kids because She's very good with children, and wouldnt feel right about keeping her seperated from us.

Any ideas?

thanks!

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

We had a female yellow lab, same problem...Lab thing. We gave her a daily pill to help. Ask your vet....I can't remember the name of it. I'm sure you know better, but don't shave her:)

Good luck!

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

why dont you just shave the dog!! Report It

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

add more salt in its food

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

Well you are right, labs do shed. You could try talking to your vet and see if it might be worth trying her on a different food. You can also add some kind of oil to her food to possibly improve the quality of her coat. Maybe flax seed or fish oil.

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

Sometimes coat problems are the result of a food that just doesn't agree with your dog. Have her checked by your vet and get suggestions.

Good luck - she sounds like a great dog who should be around kids.!

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

it may sound awful, but have her shaved, it'll prolly feel good in the summer months, i have a black lab mix and have the same problem. they can shave her so that she's not completely bald and it will just be the length of the hair on her head.

good luck

My dog shed's INSANE amounts anything I can do?

It comes with the territory. You may be able to get a special shampoo from the vet that will help. It is amazing how much hair comes off such a short haired dog.

Looking for a dog?

go to your local pet store/ lollipop farm or something and they have tons of cute pets in need. (also check pet smart)

Looking for a dog?

Shih tzu! They are great dogs to have if there are small children around. They have longer hair, but they require grooming.. so that might be a problem. Shih Tzu's are great in almost every aspect.. I grew up with 5 of them :) Now I have a mini dachshund (bad with kids/strangers if not socialized), basset/beagle and 2 border collie mixes.

If the long hair is an issue, just go to the animal shelter and find one that fits your requirements!

Looking for a dog?

B-B-B-B-B-BEAGLE !!

The average lifespan is about 12.3 years!

They're generally friendly, and medium sized.

They also seem to do good with large and small families -- and open their hearts to other pets as well.

And I think the miniature littlefield sheepdog would be good to. Here's a pic of both:

Looking for a dog?

Go to Petfinder.com because you can adopt, and they have icons that let you know if it's good with kids, other pets, its age, personality, breed, etc. You really never know with a dog, they really take on your personality. When I got my chihuahua, she was so stand off-ish and subdued that I was afraid she'd be shy and boring all her life. But after like a month, she was a spitfire like me. My friends' dogs are the same way. They really do kind of emulate your energy. The great thing about adopting a dog though is that you'll know its previous experience and personality up until now.

Looking for a dog?

Calvier Charles King Spaniels.

They don't bark much.

Aren't too hyper.

15-25 pounds.

Awsome with kids.

Small and easy to train.

Most important: Cute and loveable!!

Hope this helps.

Looking for a dog?

Problem with dog?

my husband loves his dog, jack terrier. I dont really like all animals. but try to understand my husband. The problem is his dog is very hairy. her hair is everywhere around the house.Im the one who clean her hair, and my husband dont care about it

and he said there's nothing can do about her hair.

I dont like to see my house dirty with her hair.I'm getting headache now. Anyone can help ?

Problem with dog?

Some dogs shed a lot. What can you do to help get the hair loss under control? Grooming is the key. Keeping in mind that the hair is going to fall out either way and it is best to remove it yourself and throw it in the trash, then to let the hair fall out naturally all over your house. The more hair YOU remove the less you will see it all over your house. Brushing your dog once a day will greatly reduce the unwanted hair all over your clothes, carpet and furniture, especially during shedding season. There are products that can help you remove all the dead hair in a few grooming sessions, leaving less hair to fall out inside your house. During the shedding season, if you do not remove the shedding winter coat, you will most likely see it falling all out all over your house for about a period of a month or so.

A note from me- If you get another dog, get a poodle/ a poodle cross. They don't shed very much at all! ;)

Problem with dog?

Unfortunately, Jack Russels shed a lot. There's nothing you can do about it.

Problem with dog?

Regular brushing should help with the extra hair. Spring and summer is shedding season so you could see more hair coming out around these times.

Most animals shed though, it's just a fact of life. A Swiffer mop works wonders.

Problem with dog?

daily grooming and vacuuming,,, it is spring time... she will stop shedding so much soon. try brushing the dog.. you may grow attached... who knows

Problem with dog?

There is *nothing* you can do to keep your husband's Jack Russell Terrier from shedding. Even though they are short-haired, JRTs do shed and they do shed a lot.

The only thing you can do is try to keep on top of things with the cleaning. Vacuuming daily or every other day is a good way to keep dog hair under control in the house. Since this is your husband's dog, and you don't particularly like animals, I would sit down with your husband and address this issue. Maybe he can do some of the cleaning in order for this arrangement to work out for everyone.

By the way, dog hair isn't "dirty". It's just HAIR. People loose hair too.

Problem with dog?

There are several brushes out that can help cut down on the shedding. I like the "Shed Ender" from the TV comercial. They also sell ones like it in pet shops.

I have heard of people vaccuuming off their dog. I would think that with a gentle brush on the vaccuum, so long as it doesn't freak the dog out, could help cut down on hair.

I would try asking your local pet shop what they think is the best brush for your dog. This will help with the hair, and give you and the dog some quaility time together, you might even learn to really like the dog and not mind the hair so much.

Problem with dog?

razor+dog=no sheding

Problem with dog?

I have a rat terrior and she sheds alot too. I have heard that if you feed a dog scramble eggs with one meal a day it will make their coat shiny and help the shedding.

Problem with dog?

try brushing her every day you can try those stickey rolls used for getting fur of funiture we use them on our cat she loves it also try to give her baths more often it gets rid of the dead fur and malnutrition is also a cause of shedding my cat sheds alot cause she is over weight she dident when she had a normal weight if the dog is over weight that might also be a cause of the excess shedding ask your vet if it is a health prob your vet is shure to know

Problem with dog?

Okay... there are several products on the market to tame shedding... the Furminator (a fancy grooming brush) was rated the best in consumer reports and can be found at Petsmart... also there are shampoos and grooming products you can bath and spray on your dog to prevent lots of shedding... i personally vacuum my dog (I brush him and vacuum the hair as I go, and i vacuum his coat) it was tricky at first b/c all dogs hate vacuums but he got used to it... also vacuum your house... the worst thing about animal fur is how it tangles in fabric and refuses to brush off! Ultra Suede is a newer type of upholstery fabric that can't be penetrated by hairs... hope it helps!

Problem with dog?

Being a professional groomer I have to give you a totally biased solution. First take her to a groomer and have a full Bath %26amp; Groom done. She'll get some very serious brushing and combing and a bath to wash away the largest part of the shed.

Now at home, give her a vigorous brushing with a medium bristle brush every day. I do it outside when doing my own dogs, it saves on the clean up. Dog hair is totally compostible so I let it fly on the wind.

The daily brushing should take about five minutes, will keep the indoor shed to a minimum and reduce your clean up time. And who knows, you might even suffer a bonding with the dog. They're good for headaches too.

Problem with dog?

Daily Brushing at home would certainly help and you may want to consider regular professional grooming as well.

Problem with mum and dog?

we've had our dog for about 10 months now and for the first few months, he was doing what every mischievous puppy would do, pee in the house, rip up things, it all apart of the puppies life! and on the first day we got, she said she wanted to get rid of it! luckily, i convinced her to let him stay. throughout this whole time, sometimes she would complain about how she regrets taking the dog in and shi*t and some days she'll say she loves the dog and how well he behaves. now, once again, she wants to get rid of the dog. she'll say calmly i want to find the dog a different owner, he is ruining my health (even though he isnt because we've found a way to get dog hair off the carpet and clothes). i have explained over and over that i take care of the dog but it is also the family dog. she doesnt pay for any of the dogs shots, food, toys NOTHING. i am so pissed off that she thinks its my dog. sure, i take care of him more than anyone else but she still needs to help me pay. help?

Problem with mum and dog?

dont sit down with her and just tell her if she threatins to give the dog away that you will hate her the rest of your life. My monther used to do that to us she will get us a pet and a week or so later early on a saturday morning you will wake up and the pet is gone and today i am 27 she has passed away but still everytim i see my dogs i remember what she did and i hate her for it, So tell her that she cant do that its your dog otherwise see what legal action there can be taken by you and seek help from the local nspca maybe they can help you Hope you can keep your dog

Problem with mum and dog?

Your 14 and you have decided that your mother is not responsible....?

Get rid of the dog until you can pay for it by yourself.

If your mother does not want to spend money that is hers and hers alone on this dog then that is her choice..

Problem with mum and dog?

Your mother sounds a bit stressed. And probably not just about the dog. Does she have other problems in her life? Maybe she's just taking her other difficulties out on the dog.

Or maybe I'm being a bit hard on your mum because I'm such a dog lover.

Is there another family member who might look after the dog for a little while sometimes when your mum is on the rampage?

It's hard when you're young and have to depend on other people - believe me, I know ALL about that!

I hope it works out for you and your dog. Good luck.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

HAS ANYONE USED PERMENET HAIR DYE ON A DOGOR ANY OF YOUR PETS IF SO WILL IT HARM THE DOG IN ANYWAY DONT JUST SO NO DONT DO IT TELL ME WHY CANT I USE IT ON THE OG AND IF ANY SIDEEFFECTS

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

Think about it. If you would put it on your head, what's the worst it could to to your dog?

It's possible he could be allergic. Before you do a full dye job, rub some dye on the inside of his thigh, where the fur is thin, and see if he has any reaction after a few days. Of course, make sure you rinse it well so he won't lick up the dye.

If nothing happens, go nuts, but only if your dog doesn't mind being bathed. Rinse thoroughly, and be prepared for him to shake himself and get hair dye all over you and your bathroom ceiling.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

Why the hell would you want to dye your dog's hair? Please don't abuse the animal like that. You might want to alter your appearance but that doesn't mean your dog does.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

NO If you want to dye a white dog a color use food coloring on the white.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

I have never done it, but its done all the time to show dogs! Its something that show dog people won't admit to, and something that the judge can't prove because human hair dye doesn't come off on the judge's hand in the ring so the judge can't prove it. So many dogs are dyed for the show ring that in some popular breeds, a dog that isn't dyed seems out of place. Check the pictures of the German Shepherds at the Sieger Show sometime and notice how so many have black on their saddles that drop straight down and then go from front to back in a perfectly straight horizontal line! Some of those dogs look like they were all spray painted with the same pattern! And its interesting when occasionally one of those dogs appears later in a photo as an old dog when it isn't being shown, then the difference between the dogs natural coat and how he was presented in show becomes obvious. In some breeds that require a solid black nose, such as some of the white breeds like the Maltese, ppl tattoo black ink on the noses if the noses aren't solid black. Such tricks are and have been common ever since humans exhibited animals in competition, and such things are done all the time in competition shows, whether it be horse, dog,, rabbit or other creatures.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

there is a book called "Why paint cat's" it's like tha i gess. but i dont think that it woul relly hert em.(*(I)*) ;P

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

Do not use regular peoples hair dye !!!! Those are chemicals that could burn and hurt an animal... We used to dye our poodles pink and blue and green ect. with a food coloring... Works, is cute and does not hurt them at all.

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

Yes I did use hair dye on my dog, I got the dye from a local hairdresser and made sure that is was safe for them. I dyed my dogs ears and tail pink, and nothing appeared to have happened on the spot, only a couple of weeks after she developed and enormouse lump on her right shoulder (could have been from the dye and cound have not, I dont remember putting dye on her shoulder, in the first place). However it is stronlgy recommened that you avovid contact with your dogs skin as much as possible!!!!

HAIR DYE ON Dogs?

talk to a professional groomer on this one they prolly can help u out a lot more

Hair loss in dogs?

i have a sheep dog and she is losing her hair and has a rash, should i bring her to the vet, does anyone know how to treat it

Hair loss in dogs?

She needs a skin scraping for fungus and mites from the vet. Once you know why she is loosing hair you will know what to do for her.

Hair loss in dogs?

Hair loss in dogs can mean a number of things. I would ask the vet to do a geriatric blood panel to check all vital organs and counts. This is a test that cost around $90 to $120 but is much more extensive then a regular CBC.

It could be mange in which the vet will do a scrape. It could be thyroid, it could be alopecia, it could be lack of something in the diet. You just need to get the extensive blood test and go from there. Good Luck!

Hair loss in dogs?

Your first idea about seeing the vet is the best. Could be something serious like mange or something simple like an allergy.

Hair loss in dogs?

he or she is going away from you don't let her outside and need a medical check up

Hair loss in dogs?

The three top culprits of this is: Fleabite dermatitis, thyroid problem or allergies. Have your vet run tests (run the first two and save the allergy testing as a last result...it's kinda pricey!). These things are very treatable with dogs.

Hair loss in dogs?

In summer it is normal for dogs to lose hair, some more than the other. But if you mean that by losing hair bald patches have appeared then definitely a visit to the vet is required. The rush could be due to a variety of causes from dietary imbalance to fungi and parasites.

Hair loss in dogs?

I think you should take her to the vet. The vet will check her skin and let you know what the rash is. I would let the vet treat her.

Hair loss in dogs?

Yes, go see a vet. Also, you should be really careful with your dog's diet, big dogs shouldn't eat fats or too much red meet. This can also be a cause for his rash. I have a wolf and she had the same problem from eating a jar of pig fat she had stolen from the kitchen!

Hair loss in dogs?

yes you need to bring her to the vet,, this isn't normal

Hair loss in dogs?

My poodle was also losing a lot of his hair and the skin itself was turning dark. I brought him to the Vet. He said it was a hormonal problem and to have him neutuered. I did - and all his hair grew back in a very short time. Problem sloved.

Hair loss in dogs?

yES SHE NNEDS TO SEE A VET. hAIR LOSS AND SKIN RASH CAN BE A NUMBER OF THINGS. sOME MANGE IS ALSO CONTAGIOUS TO PEOPLE SHE NEEDS TO GET TO A VET.

Hair loss in dogs?

Yes. Take her to the vet. We had a black Lab who lost a lot of her hair %26amp; gained weight. He sent a skin sample away for tests, which revrealed she had a thyroid condition %26amp; had to take prescription iodine pills daily. She grew her hair back, got back to normal, %26amp; lived many more years.

Dog shedding changes??

I'm thinking of adopting a dog (found her on petfinder). She's a mix breed. I don't want a dog that sheds (I currently have a min. poodle). My question is, when I go to meet this new dog, I'm going to run my hands over her to see if she sheds. She's only 5 months old. If she doesn't shed now, is there a chance she will as a full grown adult? Do puppies she more, less, or the same as adults? I just don't want to think I'm getting a no-shedder and end up with dog hair in a year!

Here's the dog I'm looking at...

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/disp...

The lady with the rescue group said she ran her hand over her and no hair... but like I said... I wonder if the amount of shedding will change with age.

Dog shedding changes??

Well, only pups that get bigger (like the mastiff or saint bernard, golden retriever ect.), tend to grow up shedding more then when they were a pup. This dog (I saw the picutes! VERY, VERY CUTE!), looks likes, that if she were to shed when she was older, she would be shedding now. Since she isn't going to get any bigger, how ever much that she sheds now, she is going to shed in the future. Remember, dogs (and other pets), only shed in the Summer time. To me, it looks like she doesn't shed. If she does, not that much!

I hope that this answers you question! I am so glad that you are adopting from www.petfinder.com! I love to see what new pets they have there each day! Good Luck on your adoption!

Dog shedding changes??

You asked this same question last night. You won't know for sure until the dog loses its puppy coat as an adolescent (usually 9-10 months of age) and develops its adult coat. Puppy coats don't shed as much so you can't tell with a mixed breed right now.

Dog shedding changes??

All dogs shed. You shed too.

The dog will shed quite a bit as she gets her adult coat. Shedding also has a lot to do with season and temperature. The dog will shed more in the spring than in the fall, etc.

Dog shedding changes??

There are only a few breeds that don't shed. Breeds like poodles and most terriers. I had a Norfolk terrier that didn't shed. Those breeds have more "human" like hair than they do fur. Most other breeds shed shed, some more than others.

The link didn't work so I was unable to view what kind of dog you are looking at.

What is the best shampoo to use on dogs with curly hair?

I agree with the first answer. What a lot of people don't realize is that a dog is totally different from a person. You bathe them too much and you can dry out their skin. Always use a shampoo that's made for your pet, never a human shampoo. The ph is different, thus you'll start drying out the skin and eventually the dog will develop skin problems. As far as what kind of shampoo with a dog with curly hair, it really wouldn't matter, it's actually your choice. You don't want to wash a dog no more than once a week....unless there is some type of emegency. Otherwise, go to a pet store, and look around, ask for assistance if you have to. Then decide what is better for your dog. Also, many vets sell pet care products also, but they can be more expensive. Best of luck to you and your dog..........

What is the best shampoo to use on dogs with curly hair?

Almost right on! dogs have no pores therefore the drying out is more likely an irritation caused by inadequite rinsing. Report It

What is the best shampoo to use on dogs with curly hair?

I like Davis Vet products or Bio-Groom. Both make good conditioning shampoos. Use a dog creme rinse or conditioner after the shampoo. Make a BIG difference on curly or coarse coats..

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

they told me that a dog would cause too much trouble, too much hair, pee, poo, barking, periods(heat) smell, etc etc I didnt listen becuase i really wanted a a little dog. So i went to to the shelter and i go a small dog (which i adore!) im 21yrs old. Now i know why my parents warned me! a dog is too much work, cleaning, taking out to pee/poo feeding, cleaning dog hair from every single one of my clothes!!! i love my dog but it's way too mcuh trouble. I guess i wont have any children soon..if a dog is too much trouble imagine a baby!!! trouble trouble trouble1!! what shuld i do??? my dog is really pampered, she has everything that a dog could wish for but i cant be a nanny or a mommy all day everyday!!!

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

you are one of the reasons why pets end up in shelters didnt you think the dog would pee or poo?and ofcourse you have to feed if you really loved the dog you wouldnt see it as trouble another thing the heat cycles can be easily cured SPAY HER but assuming you got her from a shelter she probably already is spayed the barking is very much trainable and if shes going inside TRAIN HER! i have 2 dogs about to get a third and i honestly do not see them as trouble or too much work.next time being 21 think about the consequences.if you dont want her return her to the shelter or find a home for her.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

Maybe you should have researched a breed that would have been good for you. Yeah, dogs do take a lot of time at first, but if you take the time to train them properly there not as much work. You should have your dog spayed to reduce odor and be sure to groom regularly to keep the hair off.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

This is where researching beforehand would have really worked.

Find a rescue group in your area that could take the dog in. Otherwise, post an add on craigslist or petfinder.com and see what happens. Consider taking her back to the pound, or find a family that would really take care of the dog like you did. Ensure you question everyone interested, and check their homes to find it suitable.

Good luck.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

omg are u serious????????

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

Why didn`t you read up on getting a dog if you never had one before ?? That is exactly why most dogs end up in shelters to begin with, Your only alternative is to take it to a no-kill shelter or a rescue league in hopes that someone adopts it that has the time and patience to lovingly care for it. Careful where you take it as some shelters euthanize dogs when they get overcrowded. I`m sure you don`t want that to happen to a dog you adore.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

Yes, you are correct. Being a responsible dog owner does take much work and money.

You do love your dog so now it is up to you to take her for a little training. As for your time with her, you need to get organized. Brush her two to three times a week to keep the hair down. Get her spayed. Make a schedule for yourself and regain some order. After a while you will find that it is much easier and just part of the adult responsibility. Look at this as a good learning experience and enjoy your dog.

Good answer, 2 Westies.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

It's nice that you got the dog from a shelter. At least it is no worse off than before, if you must take it back.

Is it a specific pure breed? If so, I would try putting an ad in the newspaper to give it to a nice home before taking it back. Don't pawn it off on relatives who don't want it, I've seen that create animosity between family members, and then the dog won't get the love it deserves.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

To be honest, I don't see a baby being as much work as a dog. At least with babies, they're not crapping or peeing on the carpet and they don't chew furniture. They don't shed fur that gets on everything. Also, as they get older, babies become more independent and can take care of basic tasks that you used to do for them while dogs never do. A toddler and a dog aren't much different when they are about two years old but when they get older, the child is so much more advanced than the dog.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

I did that once when I was 18. Then I moved out and my Mum wouldn't let me take him. she still has him over 10yrs later and I have one Pound puppy (now 5) and I'm getting another mutt in a few months. I also have a 5yr old son and a 1 yr old daughter.

I adp[ted a dog against my parents consent and now i regret it!?

Owning a dog(s), or any animal is a lot of work. I got up this a.m. to cat puke on the rug I'd just cleaned yesterday, noticed the muddy paw prints on the hardwood floors and the dirty white woodwork around the window and know that I'm in for several hours of hard core cleaning. I've had dogs all my adult life and continue to clean up pet messes because I can't image my life without my four legged friends. At 21 and single I wouldn't have signed up for all of this because my priorities were different.

What's the best way to have a model with hair in 3DS max?

I'd like to know about creating a model with hair in 3DS Max (I currently have version 7). I'm talking about any kind of hair: long hair, Disney's Cinderella's hair (if I were to create a real-life-like model) and even hair for cats and dogs.

I'm not asking for a do-it-all plug in. In fact, the more options the better.

What's the best way to have a model with hair in 3DS max?

where did u get 3ds max

What's the best way to have a model with hair in 3DS max?

maybe try alpha mapping? takes more time though. If, you're a beginner or doing this for fun, then the plugins are a better start. If you're going to be an expert or something, then experiment with alpha maps.

What's the best way to have a model with hair in 3DS max?

The best way is:

Modify / modifier list / World-space modifiers / Hair and Fur (wsm)

but don't forget: 3dsMax is not a good media to generate REAL renderings. If you want a real atmosphere simulation you should use softwares like (MAYA) or go for rendering into other softwares like (RenderMan).

Enjoy it

Best way to brush 2 hair dogs?

Use a curry type comb to brush out the undercoat, and a gently brush or mitt to smooth the top coat. Dogs with undercoates require a lot more brushing and grooming than others. You should brush daily.

Best way to brush 2 hair dogs?

If they have fine hair use what is called a horse brush. It is like a saw blade with a hadle.

My Maltese shi tzu crosses are great. They don't shed hair so you have the added advantage of not having dog hair around. They need clipping about once every 2 months.

The momma one is slightly bigger than my cat and the daughter ( 6 months) is not as big as my cat.

What are some cute dogs with longer hair that will stay little?

If you don't have children in your home and are not planning on having children, then Lhasa Apso's are really great pets. They resemble Shih Tzu's, but are slightly bigger. If you are planning on kids, then Cockapoos are a great suggestion. Yorkie's are good, but they tend to be yappy (no offense). Puli's are really interesting. They aren't furry, per se, but they do have long hair. It's just in dreadlocks. They are extremely hard to groom, so you do need to watch that. Miniature Eskimos are a good choice, too. Oh, and wire haired Dachshunds.

You know your a dog lover when.....?

I also found this 閳ユ脯ou know you閳ユ獧e a dog lover when閳?and found it completely funny and so true! You can find a lot of pet humour at http://www.pawsperouspets.com/humor/inde... Enjoy!

You can't see out the passenger side of the windshield because there are nose prints all over the inside.

You like people who like your dog. You despise people who don't.

You are the only idiot walking in the pouring rain because your dog needs its walk.

You keep an extra water dish in your second-floor bedroom, in case your dog gets thirsty at night.

You never completely finish a piece of steak or chicken (so your dog gets a taste, too).

You shovel a zig-zag path in the back yard snow so your dog can reach all its favorite spots.

You avoid vacuuming the house as long as possible because your dog is afraid of the vacuum cleaner.

You make popcorn just to play catch with your dog.

You carry pictures of your dog in your wallet instead of pictures of your parents, siblings, significant other, or anyone else remotely human.

Your dog is the star of your World Wide Web site.

You have 32 different names for your dog. Most make no sense, but she understands.

Your dog eats cat poop, but you still let her kiss you (but not immediately afterward, of course).

You like people who like your dog. You despise people who don't.

You carry dog biscuits in your purse or pocket at all times.

You talk about your dog the way other people talk about their kid.

You sign and send birthday/anniversary/Christmas cards from your dog.

You put an extra blanket on the bed so your dog can be comfortable.

You'd rather stay home on Saturday night and cuddle your dog than go to the movies with your sweetie.

You go to the pet supply store every Saturday because it's one of the very few places that lets you bring your dog inside, and your dog loves to go with you.

You open your purse, and that big bunch of baggies you use for pick-ups pops out.

You get an extra-long hose on your shower-massage just so you can use it to wash your dog in the tub, without making the dog sit hip-deep in water.

You and the dog come down with something like flu on the same day. Your dog sees the vet while you settle for an over-the-counter remedy from the drugstore.

Your dog is getting old and arthritic, so you go buy lumber and build her a small staircase so she can climb onto the bed by herself.

Your license plate or license plate frame mentions your dog.

You don't think it's the least bit strange to stand in the back yard chirping "Meg, pee!" over and over again, while Meg tends to play and forget what she's out there for (but what your neighbors think of your behavior is yet another story).

You match your furniture/carpet/clothes to your dog.

You have your dog's picture on your office desk (but no one else's).

You lecture people on responsible dog ownership every chance you get.

You skip breakfast so you can walk your dog in the morning before work.

You don't go to happy hours with co-workers any more because you need to go home and see your dog.

Your friend's dog acts as Best Dog at your wedding.

Your weekend activities are planned around taking your dog for a hike (both days).

You keep eating even after finding a dog hair in your pasta.

When you get your latest roll of film and there isn't a single picture of a two-legged person in it...

You know your a dog lover when.....?

Thats me!! I laughed so hard I need a puppy pad!!! I did add a picture of the whole family one picture of all of us together . I have a dozen of Mason our empty nest mini doxie! When we got our new digital camera Hubby took the first picture of Mason in his new shirt Santa brought him. Hes a Clothes Hound (Mason). Hubby not so much. HA!HA!

You know your a dog lover when.....?

haha that's great. Yup my dogs are like children to me. Love them to death!!!

You know your a dog lover when.....?

Totally agree ;-)

You know your a dog lover when.....?

Yeah.. exactly, my baby is my BABY! Noone is more special than he is.=)

You know your a dog lover when.....?

That's just being a DUPE %26amp; slave to an animal....a "pet-person",not a "dog-person"!

There a HUGE difference!

Is it normal for dogs to loose hair at 4 months and have some bald spots?

No. One of our puppies had that problem, and it turned out to be a terminal skin condition. We had to put her down. Finding out sooner than later will be better for your dog. Visiting a vet is the best option.

Is it normal for dogs to loose hair at 4 months and have some bald spots?

yes but you should take a dog that is loosing hair to the vet because it might be very sick.

Is it normal for dogs to loose hair at 4 months and have some bald spots?

None of my dogs ever lost hair as puppies, so I would say no. The only time our Dachshund gets a bald spot is as a result of fleas as he's allergic to the bites. You might check with your vet to see if this could be a problem.

Is it normal for dogs to loose hair at 4 months and have some bald spots?

No, it's not! This could be a number of things, including some type of mange or skin allergy.. Please get your poor puppy to the vet..before it turns into something more serious!

Is it normal for dogs to loose hair at 4 months and have some bald spots?

NO! go to vet have the pup checked for Demodetic Mange hopefully that won't be the case.Your dog needs to be checked. It could be several things, maybe another type mange,or possible diet,or even anxiety, many thing can cause loss of hair.It is not normal for dogs to loss hair.

What is a good shampoo, conditioner, or combination of the two for weak and tangled hair?

I have thick, wavy hair and it breaks, splits and gets tangled very easily. I use TreSemme right now, but my friend (an aspiring hairstylist) suggested Garnier Fructis. But others have suggested stuff like Dove, Pantene, and Sunsilk, although I found just as many haters for all of those (except Dove, though I'm sure they're out there) and I read in a magazine that I should shampoo every other day (at maximum) to keep my hair moisturized. I am so confused. I want something that makes my hair smooth and strong. I seem to lose my hair as often as my dog, though I blame it on poor hair care. I recently stopped brushing and since then, my hair has been in better shape, though not satisfactory. So, does anyone have any advice for someone who only recently started giving a crap about how her hair looked?

What is a good shampoo, conditioner, or combination of the two for weak and tangled hair?

I have had the same problem in the past but have found Herbal Essenses the best shampoo for tangled hair. Garnier Fructis is another good shampoo although I found it made my scalp itch. I'm not sure what you use to brush your hair but a good hair de-tangler is a wide toothed comb (avon have some good combs, cheap too) or any chemist/supermarket. Hope you find a suitable shampoo soon anyway x

What is a good shampoo, conditioner, or combination of the two for weak and tangled hair?

I had the same problem with my hair falling, getting tangled etc. I now use catwalk shampoo and catwalk conditioner both with oatmeal and honey (also there is one shampoo %26amp; conditioner together) and seems to have solved my problem.

What is a good shampoo, conditioner, or combination of the two for weak and tangled hair?

Joico K-pak conditioner is the best. It can be used daily or as a deep conditioning hair mask.

Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is the best clarifying shampoo for removing product buildup so hair can absorb a deep conditioning treatment fully.

H%26amp;S for sensitive scalps is my favorite daily shampoo.

What is a good shampoo, conditioner, or combination of the two for weak and tangled hair?

Just try John Frieda's products once..

I am using the Frizz Ease Rehydrate that adds moisture.. and it is wonderful. I use the spray as well.. good stuff..

good luck..

Why is my dogs blak hair turnin white?

My dog is a Maltipoo. She's not grownin old she very young but im not sure why her blak hair is turnin or growin white on her blak spot. Is it natural or sumthing is wrong?

Why is my dogs blak hair turnin white?

If she's not older, then one of two things comes to mind. It could be just random white hairs within the black spot or she's possibly a white and silver, not a white and black. Silver Poodles are born black and slowly change to silver. I lean towards that, since she's a Poodle mix. I'll add a couple links, if I find any.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

My wife wants a puppy of a small breed for a inside dog but she alergic to dog fur. She has no ill effects from the dogs with continual growing hair. She just had to have her cocker put to sleep and I was wondering what other breeds were available.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

poodle. friendly and smart.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

bichin frises' are really awesome. i'm a pet groomer and have been doing it for a while and i can't remember one bad bichon. poodles are okay. chihuahua's are another option. is it the fur or the dander that your wifes allergic to?

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

The allergen in dogs is not the fur, but the dander (skin flakes). The only way to keep this under control, is to bathe the dog regularly (but not more than once every 2 weeks) and to brush/groom the dog.

I'm also allergic to dog dander.

When you have a dog for a while, you become accustomed to that particular dog and the level of allergy experienced and discomfort will decrease, but only for that particular dog. My dogs all made me itch for about 2 years before my immune system stopped over-reacting to them.

In terms of dogs that don't shed though, it's any dog that you have to clip the fur.

Yorkshire terriers, maltese terriers, poodle (all sizes), lhasa apso, shih tzu, west highland white terrier, schnauzers, pulis, etc etc etc. However, these dogs all require extensive grooming - regular hair cuts, regular hair brushing etc.

I have asthma and bad eczema and I am a yorkie breeder. I find that as long as i keep them clean and make sure to clean my house super regularly, the dander does not get the best of me. That being said however, when I groom them, I still sneeze, sometimes wheeze, and get itchy eyes and have to blow my nose a lot... they're worth it though!!

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

My mom is the same way and we got her a Maltese for Christmas two years ago. Hair, not fur, does not shed, small breed. ours is ony 9lbs.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

All dogs shed some what but this link has a few that shed less and are more friendly to people with allergies.

http://www.petconnectonline.com/dogs_all...

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Yorkshire Terrier-They don't shed hair and are very good pets. My parents had 1 lived for 15 years and weighed about 8lbs it entire life. Great Pet

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

The only hyper-allergic dog I know of is a Bichon Frise. They do not shed !! They are a small, very sweet breed. They are great for ppl with all kinds of allergys. So sorry for the loss of your Cocker.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Well are many breeds with little to no shedding such as poodles, Bichon Frise, and Italian Greyhounds (the small ones). But you have the think whats good for your family. Some terriers are little to no shed, but terriers can be chewers and sometimes very troubled dogs. If you want a nice quiet no bark dog that is easy to teach I suggest a Italian Greyhounds. First look up a little bit about each breed and then you can decide. But i have an Italian Greyhound and she is a very great dog, I've never heard her bark, and she is very loving but can be left alone. She loves to cuddle, and sometime play. But she is the best dog I have ever had.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

All dogs shed.

Grooming any dog on a regular basis will help with shedding and dander.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

The Mexican Hairless Has no coat. Any animal that has hair shed that hair, some more than others. If you want less hair particually that fine under coat that floats through the air, consider the terrior type or poodle. Many blame the hair for the allergic reaction when in fact it is the dandurf or shedding of the skin that causes the reaction. The dogs saliva can cause a reaction. The type of shampoo , deodoriser ,and flee or tick medication can cause her reaction.Tell your vet your problem he can provide you with type of supplies that have no allergic reaction.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Poodles

Schnauzers

Most Terrier breeds that have wirey hair tend not to shed as much.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Poodles, bichon frise, soft coated wheaten terriers, and (not a small dog) afghan hounds. When I had a house full of afghans, I never had a problem with dog hair because they have no undercoat and do not blow coat twice a year like other dogs. They only lose hair like people do.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Poodles and schnauzers, giant schnauzers are really nice!

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

that would be maltese.there are cute smart and there will have good companion.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

To name a few...

Maltese, Shih Tzu, Poodle, and a Yorkie are probably your best choices for small dogs.

You can do more research on which dog would be best for you at

http://us.rd.yahoo.com/p/pets/*http://pets.yahoo.com/pets/dogs/breed/

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Of course there are the usual answers to question: Poodles, Bichon Frise.

But there is the Bedlington Terrier. I own one, they shed no hair at all. My mum is allergic to most dogs she sees and touches but with Bedlingtons their hair doesnt shed!!

They are gorgeous dogs with lively but loving personalitys. The Bedlington isnt small but isnt large and fits perfectly into the family home! They love to exercise and can run really fast, they are good with children but they are terriers so cant be too trusted with other animals like cats and rabbits. They will give so much love and are amazing dogs.

What breeds of dogs have hair as opposed to fur and do not shed?

Um, the way you've phrased the question sounds like she put the spaniel to sleep because she was allergic to it. I really hope that isn't the case; but if it is, she should stay from owning another dog, as she'll be allergic to the dander on that one, too.

Good collar for dog?

Please, help

collars are messing my maltese and poodle hair, any kind of collar do you think is better for my dogs hair? (dogs need collars for id tag incase of missing) I only put in the collars for my dogs when I take them outside but why my maltese and poodle doesn't look godd in collars, so let me know if you have a good collar for your maltese and toy poodle.

Thanks for all responding.

good day!

Good collar for dog?

yes, but that doesn't always help when you are required to have them licensed and vaccinated

have you tried looking at some of the akc dog shows

i'm sure they have small cute ones(that will also hold tags for your small breeds

Good collar for dog?

If you don't want a collar, you could always get an id chip so that you know EXACTLY where they are and can track them down within seconds

Good collar for dog?

There is a collar that is called a fur saver. It is designed and used for that problem. I have seen the more on larger dogs.. but you could look for one for you little dog. All my dogs have fur savers on and it doesn't mess up their hair. They can pe purchased online or at petstores. Many police dogs use them.

http://www.dog.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=10021...

That is what one looks like

Good collar for dog?

Actually the micro chip only works if you have a scanner. It doesn't track the dog it simply identifies it. Which I think all dogs should be micro chipped. My shepherd was stolen and gone for 9 months. I got him back because he was brought to a vet that had one of my flyers so they scanned him. :-)

I suggest a nylon rope type collar. It's not actually a rope but it's round. They only come in choke collars but you can use the tag holder to hold the two ends together. I have a Shih-Tzu so understand your problem. Also keep it on very loose. Not loose enough to fall off but where you can get a few fingers in there. Less matting that way.

Good collar for dog?

Why don't you just get one of the little show leads that is a collar and leash in one. You just slip it over the neck and go. It is a slip lead so the can't back out of it.

Good collar for dog?

I know what you mean.

Try a step in harness. it also will not cause pressure against the trachea, thus, if the dog is a puller, it eliminates possibility of tracheal damage.

Good collar for dog?

i dont really kno but i need to ask u a question are maltese good pets and how much do they grow because im thinking of geting one

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

If your pitt is loosing its hair then you really need to take it to the vet and have it checked out. I mean sheadding is one thing but loosing hair is anouther! ASre you feeding cheap grocery store food? Maybe you dog has allergies! You really should find out

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

They don't unless something is wrong

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

Shedding?

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

shedding probably .. does he have mange? have a vet check him

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

Mange.

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

pits have REALLY sensitive skin. It could easily be food related. Check to make sure your dog's food does not contain by-products, corn or wheat. Corn and wheat are the leading cause of food allergies in pets. Also, it's flea season, I've seen many animals this year lose hair over scratching and biting, or just an allergic reaction to a flea bite. I'd check the food ingredients and make sure you stay on top of a flea treatment. Could be hotspots or demodectic mange, I'd visit your vet to have him/her checked.

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

check with vet...i think your dog may have "seasonal flank alopecia". look up pictures of it online and see if it looks like what your dog has. My English Bulldog has it.

www.hilltopanimalhospital.com/seasonal...

/seasonalalopecia.htm

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

It could be some type of allergy or it could be mange. Either one is easily treatable. There are 2 types of mange: demodex and sarcoptic. Demodex is the non-contagious kind, while sarcoptic is the equivalent of scabies in humans. You need to get to the vet to find out what's going on and how to get it fixed.

Why do pitbull dogs lose their hair?

This is a very common problem in Pitbulls. It is believed that Pitbulls, probably due to mass irresponsible breeding, now as a majority, have compromised immune systems. Now, in my response I will assume there are no differences in environment from any other typical breed of dog ie good diet, well taken care of, routine vet care/vaccines, flea prevetative etc. So, assuming all factors are equal in this comparison to other breed of dogs it has been very common to see Pitbulls have Demodex Mange(mite) which causes the hair loss, scaling and crusting. This can be directly related to a lesser immune system. The demodex mite normally lives on a dog's skin and is always present, but when the immune system is weak or compromised and is not keeping the mite numbers in check, there is a proliferation of the mite which can cause wide-spread hair-loss, crusting and scaling. It can be a long process to get under control. It is not zoonotic nor can any dogs gets this type of mange from a dog with demodex mange. It is purely self-limited within the individual dog.

it may be a cairn terrier. does it look like toto from the wizard of oz?

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

It sounds EXACTLT like a rescued dog I took in 12 yrs. ago.

I still don't know her breed mix,.. but am certain she's 1/2 Chihauhua (a Chihauhua rescuer validated).

My Holly is about 13 now and she's Chi size, greyish mottley wirey coat,... a funny little character,... actually at 1st glance when she was younger, some thought she was a cat!

I wish I knew how to put a picture on here,...like I've seen others do,... but don't know how.

I got Holly's pics in my computer files, but am rather computer illiterate at more complicated procedures.

How do you download pics on this here site for others to see?

I bet my unknown heritage dog is very much like yours,... wish you could put a pic here.

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

Sounds like a terrier breed.

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

There are not too many small wire haired, gray breeds. So, I'm thinking perhaps miniature schnauzer.

Bless you for opening your heart and home to a stray.

Does it have any of these coat patterns? http://www.petsplace.co.za/Schnauzer_Ben...

My niece had a Toy Poodle/Chihuahua mix that was wire haired, and poodles also come in gray.,My niece's looked just like this: http://www.spacedogs.ca/Copy%20of%20pupp... ( that is a Poodle/Chi mix)

This one is a Cairn Terrier: http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-breeds/im...

So, it could be that, as well, but they are not as common as schnauzers.

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

sounds like terrior cross.take it to the vet for a full check and see if you can get discount desexing and microchipping from a shelter or animal welfare league.bless you.check ask 1st that no-one has lost reported it missing,so you dont get too attached.bless you.and goodluck.

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

could be a wire haired terrier cross. Their wirey hair is rough feeling + not soft at all, altho they can be the perfect pet.

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

mixed breed

I took in a stray dog, but i dont know what breed it is, its small like a chihuahua ,grey and has wiry hair.?

Most likely a mutt. No one will ever know for sure.

Why do some dogs shed their hair while others do not?

There is no such thing as a "totally" non-shedding dog. All dogs shed at least a little hair at one time or another, as do humans. There are however dogs that shed little to no hair. This is a list of breeds that shed little to no hair.

Go to site to see list of dogs that do not shed too much.

Why do some dogs shed their hair while others do not?

Because dogs have two layers of fur the top layer stays well the bottom layer sheds so if you run your hand slow on the top no fur will be on your hand but if you scratch the dogs head fur will be on your hand.

Why do some dogs shed their hair while others do not?

All dogs shed, while some do more than others, it just depends on the breed

Why do some dogs shed their hair while others do not?

wrong question!

every dog shed hair.

just like humans. they shed hair. and take noted for humans it normal to shed 100 hairs a day.

it just so happen that dog with long coats shed more hair and that is very visible compared to dogs with short coats.

What kind of dog can be an indoor and outdoor pet, but has to be medium sized (2' tall) and doe

the truth is that all dogs shed..... there are some breeds that shed less than others as a rule of thumb breeds like poodles and beachon fise do shed less than others. through breed research you can find the right breed for your situation. to do breed research you can look ing books for the various breeds and when you find one your interested in get a book on that specific breed. Many breeders and owner think that their breed does not shed. this is not totally true, but is a selling point used to make sale for the breeders of the breed. I would suggest that you look into proper hair care and/ or shorter haired breeds if hair shedding is a consern for you. discuss the fine points with a veterinarian, groomer, shelter workers. and read both internet sites on animal care and books. this will help you make the most informed decision on which breed out of the more than 1000 breeds recognized world wide (including the new designer breeds).

As far as the 2' feet tall most breeds withthis height are considered large dogs. A general rule If you are looking for a medium sized dog you are looking for one whose breed profile states a height of under 20 in. for large breeds the heights start around 18 inches and go up to around 26 then the giant breeds are 27 and up. toy breeds are up to 15 inches and the tiniest breeds are around 10 inches.

Poodle or any poodle mix. My dog is about two feet tall and he's a schnoodle (schnauser and poodle).

What kind of dog can be an indoor and outdoor pet, but has to be medium sized (2' tall) and doesn't shed hair?

get a lab or mini pin.

What kind of dog can be an indoor and outdoor pet, but has to be medium sized (2' tall) and doesn't shed hair?

Standard Xoloitzcuintli. Does need lots of shade in the summer, and must be inside during cold weather, but they are mid-sized, and they do not shed. Reispinscher is only partly right, I know of at least three breeds that do not shed, the other two are American Hairless Terriers and Chinese Cresteds.

Can a dog get a disease in the pancreas?

Symptoms are as follows loss of weight, redness of skin, and loss of hair. That is what my dog is going through right now do you know what it could be.

Can a dog get a disease in the pancreas?

Yes,dogs ca get diseased pancreas. It would be impossible for anyone to know what your dogs symptoms mean without a physical exam. Your vet needs to examine your dog.

Can a dog get a disease in the pancreas?

He may have some sort of an allergy, thats what it sounds like my moms dog has an allergy too, and the vet thinks it may be allergic to fleas, isnt that crazy, I am a vet assistant, but not seeing the dog it sounds like allergies by the symptoms.

There are certain foods that you can add to each feeding, but it's best you know your dog before doing this. Make sure she is healthy and doesn't have any food allergies. Your vet can help you with that.

If she's in good health, you might want to look at what you feed her normally, maybe she needs a different kibble. Vitamin supplements and daily grooming will also help. If she has dry, itchy, flaky skin you could give something with Omega3 fatty acid, which will help her skin and give her a better coat or you could give her a raw egg once a week too.

Talk to your vet before changing anything in her diet incase she has a skin disorder or has allergies. Also, they will be able to tell you how much/often to give her these things. Too much can hurt them.

Besides premium dog food you could cut open and add a fish oil capsule each day to their food ( even a flaxseed capsule would be good) That will help their skin and coat. I have done it for years. They can be found in the vitamin section of the grocery store, they dont have to be specifically for "dogs" and probably cheaper if you don't get it from a pet store.

How can I improve my dog's fur coat? Will veggie oil on her food help? She's only got short hair. She's a Staf

Don't use veggie oil.

What you can do is increase the omega fatty acids in her diet.

Canned salmon is a good source,as is flax seed powder sprinkled on the food.

you can also buy supplements at most pet stores in either powder or spray form to be put on their food.

How can I improve my dog's fur coat? Will veggie oil on her food help? She's only got short hair. She's a Staf

Usually upgrading your dogs food can help improve both skin and coat. If for any reason (dry air, illness) you want to give your dog a boost, there are salmon oils, fish oils and flax seed oil you can add to the food. There are also a number of spray (leave on conditioners) that you can use when you brush that help soften and pamper the skin and coat.

How can I improve my dog's fur coat? Will veggie oil on her food help? She's only got short hair. She's a Staf

Omega 3 oils i've heard are very good for coats...although i don't really know as i don't use them. Veggie oil won't hurt her as long as it's just a small amount. I don't think it really depends on a dog's food. My puppy was on solid gold and had TERRIBLE dandruff and itchy skin...and not to mention TERRIBLE GAS...I switched his food (to a cheaper brand than solid gold) AND added veggie oil into it and his dandruff is GONE as well as the itchiness....he still lets farts from time to time but it's nowhere near as bad as it was when he was on solid gold.

High quality diet with omega 3 oils should help - healthy, well fed dog = shiny coat. Also with a short haired breed like a staff you can rub down with a chamois to smooth the coat and gloss it.

I like dogs with short hair, How 'bout you?

yeah with bbq sauce

I like dogs with short hair, How 'bout you?

yes, simpler to groom

I like dogs with short hair, How 'bout you?

I think longer hair is just plain cuter. But oh is it a hassle to keep it off your clothes, etc.

I like dogs with short hair, How 'bout you?

It matters what kind of dog it is. 4 example I have a tea cup chihuahua and they are ugly with short hair. Mine has long hair that's blonde and she is so beautiful!

I prefer short haired dogs as well...but I think that all dogs are wonderful...

I like all dogs but would prefer to own a short haired dog becaues they are less work to keep clean and sleek. Also it is easier to spot ticks and any skin problems which they may get from time to time.

I like dogs with short hair, How 'bout you?

Nope. I like soft fluffy dogs; however I suffer from allergies so I have a maltese/yorkie which do not shed. Now, I do like cats with short hair, my cat has long hair also and sheds like mad!
