How short should it be cut? She is part Cocker Spanial and part German Sheppard. Please help?

She doesn't really need her hair cut. She's naturally equipped to keep cool. Her undercoat of thick warm fur will shed out and the fur that is left is thin and soft. When it's warm outside she can poof the fur and trap cooler air close to her skin. Without the fur she's at the mercy of the air temperatures.

if you do cut it make sure than it is at least long enough that you cannot see her skin at all. She should be offered shady areas at all times that she can go to if she starts to feel hot or sunburned. You will also want to provide her with a kiddy pool of water that she can get into to cool off when she needs to. She should love this as spaniels are water dogs anyways.

just make sure it wont be so short she can get sunburnt. the cut will take up to 6 months to grow out again. your groomer should have enough experience to cut to the best length
