On Christmas Eve I met my cousins new chihuahua puppy, and it really makes me want a small dog. What other small short hair dogs are there?

Pugs are small and have short hair, thats all I can think of right now.

Get a short-haired mini dachshund like the poster above me said! I have one and he's the best. He's about 9lbs and full grown and he has short, smooth hair and barely sheds. He's awesome! I couldn't recommend a sweeter, nice dog.

One other suggestion for a small dog is a mini dachsund, chihuahua mix. That's really small and so cute!

I vote with the rest of the Mini Dachshund folks.

I have 7 of them and they are great. They are not as yippy as Chihuahuas. They are very loyal to their people.

You just have to make sure that small children don't try and pick them up and carry them around. They can mess up their spines pretty easy and then become paralyzed.
