Hey I have a shih tzu and he is about to make 1 in feb.! He is losing his fur! A lot a day! Is it like stress or what? My dad said it is called mange...and that it could spread! But we dont know how to save my dog from being a hairless rat! How do u save a dog from mange? Please help! My dog is just too cute to be bawl! Cuz like peaople say once a dog starts losing their hair a lot and like when they become absopultuly bawled... their hair dont grow back! And it would be weird to c my dog as fluffy and young as he is to be bawled! Ya know? So please, please help! And it's not because of his collar..! My dad said it's like mange or something! But my dad doesnt know how to cure it! Soooo help!!!!

But he used to have leukemia and that was scary as HELL

he might just be losing his undercoat. my german shepherd is losing a lot of hair too but it is normal for this time of year does he have any bald spots, it not he is fine......

she may also have an autoimmune disease,do you have a vet? if so take her to him/her. they will give you the right meds and your dog will get its hair back even if it has mange.

How do you know it's mange? Just because your dad says so, doesn't mean it's mange, unless he happens to be a vet and checked out the dog.

To determine if it's mange (and what type of mange) you have to bring the dog to the vet so they can take a skin sample and analyze it.

If it IS mange, the vet will provide treatment.

Bald (not bawled) spots can be caused by the dog biting and scratching the fur out due to fleas, or some type of allergy.

Poor quality food can lead to poor skin and coat, and hair may fall out.
