Introduceing a new dog to your household?

I tried to bring a new puppy in the house with my 4 yr old Rottweiler , she didnt take to it to well , her hair raised to the dog and she was aggressive , my rotty was never a social dog with other dogs in the first place but I was hoping her motherly insticks would kick in and she would except it as her own , my question is if I kept the puppy for a little while would she gradualy except it.?

It took about a week for my 3-year-old male to accept the new male puppy into our home. It took about 3 weeks until everything was completely 'normal'. Now they love each other and do everything together. Google this subject and a bunch of different articles will pop up. Take it slow, and make sure to not favor the puppy over the older dog, so your older dog doesn't feel like she's being replaced. Good luck!

take the dogs to a neutral place, like a park or something. and don't handle your rott while you do it, otherwise she might feel the need to try and protect you. perhaps have a friend help you with this.

after a while your pupper and rot will get to know eachother better and be more comfortable with eachother. its just like meeting someone for the first time and having to live with them. your not expected to like them well at first but you get used to them. good luck

It most likely will in a few weeks just be sure to keep them apart when your not with them cause she might hurt it

take them to meet away from your home the 4 year old has had the run of the house for 4 years so she thinks she owns the house and she thinks she is the boss
