A hair dryer is safe for dogs' hair, but leave it slightly wet or it'll become brittle.

1. Hair dryer

2. lay several towels on your car seat, roll down the windows, and drive on the freeway

Using BOTH hands (and probably a friend) - have someone drive you on the freeway. Hold dog out window. Dog will be dry soon.

Just make sure you have dog firmly secured in hands.

Dogs love the wind - hate it when you blow in their face - but always have head out the window on the freeway.

I do not know the climate in your area, but I would recommend you do it mid-day so it would be a lot warmer and your dog would be more comfortable, or would even find relief from the mid-day heat.

Doing it at night could cause your dogs body temp to drop for a prolonged period making it more susceptible to illnesses.

Dry them with towels then blow dry with vigorous rubbing and combing of the hair. Always keep the hair dryer a good distance from your dog's skin - constant rubbing on the hair will give you a good idea if its already getting too hot.

'hope your dog finds it fun getting bathed and blow dried.

A hairdryer on it's lowest setting.

If it's on high or medium, it can burn their skin as dog fur isnt the same like human hair. It may take a while to dry, but rather take a while than have your dog in pain, right?

Not only that, but higer settings can make your dog's fur more brittle/dry looking. Leave the fur slightly damp also. It'll air dry the rest.

I have a maltese who we have to do this to and this came from the mouth of groomers and a vet of mine.

You can't dry her fast, you have to dry her RIGHT or her coat will be one solid ball of mats. Don't scrub her up in the tub, keep the hair untangled while you're bathing her. Dry her with towels by squeezing the water out of the hair - not rubbing it. Take a hair dryer on low heat and a slicker brush - brush in long smooth strokes from the skin out to the end where the dryer is blowing. It's going to take at least 45 minutes to dry her this way, but it's the only way to do it right!
