How can i keep my 5 months old white boxer clear and good smell by giving bath once a month. How many times should i give bath my dog. I use Shampoo made for short hair dog.

I had a white pit bull dog he was 14 years old when I lost him to cancer of the liver. He had a odor when he was a puppy my vet told me to bath him with a mixture of white vineger and baking soda. I would lather him with flea and tick shampoo and then mix 1 cup vineger with 1/4 baking soda in a gallon of water. Rinse the dog throughly and then pour the mixture over him and let him air dry. This works great.

I would say Bathe him Every other Week and about him getting dirty you can't help that part its their job to get dirty!

I will tell you that if you have never had him groomed by a groomer, you should do that every other time you bathe him. They will make sure to relieve his anal glands, that have his scent in them. Those need to be relieved, or they will puff up, become uncomfortable, and he will scoot his bottom across your floor to relieve them, unleashing his scent and other things, on your carpet. Groomers do this as part of their bathing process, in addition to clipping toenails, which is also important so that your pet is not in pain from long toenails. Find a good groomer in your area who takes care of all these things--it is good pet maintenance and will keep him (and you) happy.

Boxers are one of those breeds who just dont smell really good anyways. Like Bulldogs. The more you bathe them, the worse off their skin and coat is. Use puppy wipes from the pet store in between baths.

in the winter the heat dries out my puppies skin makes him flake a little so i try to give as few baths as possible since their skin probably itches from the cold weather and indoor heating and baths will take away their natural skin oils making it worse. well you can try once a week, but constantly check his skin for any flaking, with white hair it will be hard to see, so look at his actual skin. if you see him scratching too, then i'd change to every other week for a bath. Or give a bath as often as you want as long as you use a dog moisturizer for the skin, would be my advice.

Boxers, especially white boxers, are prone to skin problems. It sounds to me as if yours might have a skin infection or a yeast infetion on his skin. Bring him to you rvet and explain that he stinks soon after you give him a bath. It can usually be cleared up with antibiotics in about a week or two!
