Dog whiskers?

while I was away I let my friend take care of my dog. Well she cut her hair and around her mouth, and I noticed that it looks like she cut the whiskers! Is this bad or normal?

Dog whiskers?

i don't think this is normal, but it won't hurt the dog

Dog whiskers?

No it's not a bad thing. Some groomers do it all the time. Show dogs have their whiskers cut off also. They will grow back.

Dog whiskers?

for cats: if you cat them, they cant smell for a while and have trouble eating...

maybe same 4 dogs?

Dog whiskers?

its fine a dog doesnt need whiskers like a cat needs them. they will grow back and wont do any harm to the dog. sometimes you cant help but cut them if the dog is matted badly enough.

Dog whiskers?

no not really the whiskers are there as a sensory element to the dog but there wont be any long term harm, though it is best to leave them alone.

Dog whiskers?

No. You shouldn't cut the dogs whiskers! But he'll be fine. Its worse for cats.

Dog whiskers?

Many dog groomers clip their dog's whiskers for show purposes, although it can often impair a dog's ability to hunt and play.

Dogs react quickly when anything brushes against their whiskers -- see for yourself (with a friendly dog, obviously).

Dog whiskers?

Not to worry.......they'll grow back. I take me dog to get a summer cut when the weather gets hot and they trim his whiskers......they grow back, just like their hair grows back.

Dog whiskers?

Its ok, show dogs get there whiskers cut. Theyll grow back so dont worry about it

Dog whiskers?

Relax, those whiskers'll grow back before u know it.

My poodle gets that every time she's groomed.

They always grow back, in normal condition of course.

If your dog's a hunter then take it as a 'day off' on hunting. :)

It's perfectly fine, no harm's done..
