Why does my dog shake?

My dog is a yorkie terrier and he shivers a lot! It is cold here in kansas but its not cold inside the house and he still shakes. Its not really a shake. It's more like a shiver. He also has long hair. Is this normal for smaller dogs?

Why does my dog shake?

idkk

Why does my dog shake?

maybe its a habbit

Why does my dog shake?

ussually a dog shakes bc its cold

Why does my dog shake?

It could be that he is cold or it could be that he is scared. Yorkie's have those weird tendencies to be scared.

Why does my dog shake?

Sounds like he's a nervous pup to me. Many small breeds are.

Why does my dog shake?

Maybe he really is cold. Cover him with a warm blanket and put him near the fireplace. Probably he will feel better.

Why does my dog shake?

if its small i seen it alot its probably a sensative dog thats cold

Why does my dog shake?

Yes, it is common that small dogs shake.

If you think your dog is cold maybe you should put a sweater on him.

You also might want to call your Vet. Shaking can also be a sign that the dog is in pain. Just to be safe.

Why does my dog shake?

yes their skin is very fragil and and it gets cold easy and chiwawas do that to you have to wrap them in a blanket so they will get warm

Why does my dog shake?

my dog is a mix between a bulldog and a rat terrier.. and he shivers all the time. even if its hot. i think he does it for attention.. but im not sure.

Why does my dog shake?

Get him a sweater, its warmer up where you are and colder down where he is.

Why does my dog shake?

i have a teacup chihuahua and she shakes when she's cold and when she gets really excited/anxious (like when she knows i'm home or i'm about to play with her).

And yes, this is very normal for small dogs

Why does my dog shake?

maybe because he is a scared dog

Why does my dog shake?

My dog is small and also has long hair, and when it is cool ,she shivers .It may not feel cool to you but get down low on the floor like the doggies do and see if it is cold down there.Remember they are small and heat rises.get your dog something warm to wear on cool days.

Why does my dog shake?

HE IS A NERVOUS TYPE OF DOG

Why does my dog shake?

Dogs shake when they are cold, excited, anxious and in pain! If your dog is not in pain, for some reason, the he is probably cold. Small breeds tend to have a little bit of a harder time sometimes, retaining heat, and you have to put a sweater on them to keep them warm, and nice warm soft blanket helps too! I have Chihuahuas, and sometimes, I have to put a little sweater on them when they are inside and the air conditioning is on 79 degrees! Just remember, if it's too cold for you, it's definitely too cold for them!

Why does my dog shake?

While it is very common to see it in toy breeds, it is not normal. Cold temperature can make many dogs shiver, however most toy breeds that shiver on a regular basis are not cold but suffer from hypertension. It is a combination of nervousness and a lack of exercise. All to often these small dogs are treated more like a dress-up doll or fashion accessory, always carried and very rarely walked. To let them experience their environment on their own 4 feet builds confidence and is self assuring to a dog. All dogs need regular exercise; long walks and/or vigorous play sessions, even those tiny ones. Try it for yourself - take your dog for a brisk 30-45 minute walk. You might be surprised to see your dog rest calmly afterwards.
