It does smell but its not an offensive odor...but it does have a smell.; As a black female just so you know....Black people hair dont have that smell because of the junk we do put in our hair. First up, black women don't have naturally oily greasy hair. That's why WE don't have to wash it every day. Our hair is naturally dry and cleaner. And our **** don't fall out because of it. Secondly, we don't use PERMS, its called a RELAXER. Whities use perms. And hot irons are the same as CURLING IRONS, yep the same **** white girls use. A girlfriend of mine used to say herself that her brother smelled like a dog when he got caught in the rain, or that the beach house smelled like dogs were in it when the family was at the beach. The same way you saying that they were making accusations, you are doing the same thing because not all black women say that, our hair doesn't fall out from washing it, and we're not the only race that uses perms, hot irons, and all that sh**. yeah, i agree with michele. but washing our hair everyday does make it fall out. if u havent noticed white women that are in their 50's are usually more bald than black women that are in their 50's. and im not talking about length cuz thats just genes, im talking about thickness. and we hav to use grease, cuz our hair doesnt make too much oil like white peoples. we use it to keep it moisturized. and i bet u that if u had black hair, i mean nappy and thick and hard to comb, ud put perm in it cuz that seems to be the only solution at the time. u r racist and very VERY stereotypical.

Maybe it is all that crap they put in their hair to keep it styled that smells, and that goes for both races. Here is a fact:

Women with straight hair spend millions of dollars a year getting it curly. Women with curly hair spend millions of dollars a day getting it straightened.

And it does not make any difference who you are, or what race you are. If you do not bathe, use deodorant, and cologne your are going to smell.

And if you smoke or you are around smokers your hair is going to smell like smoke if you did not use cologne of some kind on it.

So it has nothing to do with race at all.

Neither blacks or whites smell like wet dogs in the rain. That's just a negative racist stereotype. Do you even know why black women don't wash their hair as often as whites? It's called a drastically different hair texture. African-American hair is alot drier and much more coarse than a caucasian's hair, and washing it everyday would be bad for it.
