Why do dogs always have a wet hair smell?

This is one of the reasons why i can't have a dog, if i could explain to my parents how to get rid of it, i might finally get a dog. Also how long does it take to train a pup?

Why do dogs always have a wet hair smell?

Not all dogs have this smell. It is usually in the smaller breeds, and a few larger ones such as Poodles. Most large, short-haired breeds, however, are essentially odorless.

If you convince your parents to allow you to get a dog, try to find one from a shelter. There are many good, faithful dogs waiting for you at the Humane Society in the hopes that you will take them home. Look for dogs there that are crosses between a few of these breeds: Weimeraner, Dalmation, Doberman, Beagle, Boxer, Bloodhound, or Greyhound. These are generally low-maintenance dogs that rarely get that "little dog" odor.

It takes a LONG time to train a puppy right. I would say about 2 years.

Also, if you do happen to get a dog that is smelly, be sure to frequently bathe them with a dog shampoo. Many dog shampoos are scented, so they can take away much of the smell.

Why do dogs always have a wet hair smell?

Dogs always roll around on the ground. And sometimes the grass is wet making the dogs wet. And it takes a while to train a puppy

Why do dogs always have a wet hair smell?

My dogs don't smell ... Dogs that are well taken care of, healthy, fed good dogfood... just plain don't smell..

mine doesnt smell.

If you take care of it, keep it groomed, brushed, and fed a high quality diet, your dog wont smell.

Why do dogs always have a wet hair smell?

if you take care of your dog and groom it properly and dont allow it to run wild all the time it wont smell there are also dog colognes that you could you and fresheners....you could even brush their teeth.....i think training a dog will never end...everyday is a learning oppurtunity for both you and your hopefully new dog.....you will always learn something new and so will your pup...its up to you if it will be learning something new or something bad!!
