Because dogs do not get hair balls, they have to get rid of the furr some how, and because it has no nutritional value it gets excrete out as waste. You could brush your dog more often to keep some of the loose fur out of his mouth, but other than shaving him :) he will continue to have fur in his poop...
Also note, that if he is licking excessivly he may have an ubderlying allergy or some kind of skin issue...dogs don't normally lick clean like a kitty...justa suggestion if it is excessive. Mention it to your vet...

both the above answers are correct comb more and wash your dog with a mild pet shampoo ,many vets recommend weekly baths for your dogs
